Our Parc
The restoration of the Château has been
completed and many new facilities have been developed. The Château is the focal point of the estate and houses the reception,
restaurant, bar and golfshop.
There is a large outside terrace where you can enjoy a drink or a
meal.
The Château has two annexes. One of them
hosts the laundry, the health
centre and the youngster's club with pool table, pin ball machine, table
tennis, etc. We are still planning what additional facilities to put in the other
annexe.
The 'health centre' with fitness equipment, saunas, showers and toilets.
Adjacent to the Château there are two
large swimming pools, plus a shallow one, ideal for toddlers. There are ample areas around the
pools for lounging and relaxing. In addition there are: two tennis courts, a
mini golf
course, a field for petanquer (jeu de boule) and a toddler's playground.

Exhibit in the Château
Every
now and then the Château hosts an exhibit of art works of artists working in
or near Lombez.
In the picture a small part of the Januari 2005 exhibit.

Wireless Internet
As from July 2005 our Parc has wireless Internet
-
How?
Via one of the WiFi connections in the Château.
-
Where?
On the terrace facing the swimmingpools and on the terrace facing the golf
course.
Inside in the library (also fixed connection there)
-
Conditions?
Your own laptop has to be programmed for wireless Internet.
To avoid annoyances we ask everybody to observe a few rules: during lunch the
service should not be used on the terrace facing the swimming pools.
Satellite TV
We are pleased with the number of TV channels
we can watch in the Parc: several Dutch, French, English and German. And as an extra our
own channel: Château TV.
How is that possible?
On the south slope next to the Château are three satellite dishes: one for analogue
signal, and two for digital signals. The signals are passed on to a little room behind the
Reception .The black boxes are the tuners for the digital signals. To the right a computer
that continually runs a PowerPoint presentation for the Château-TV. Sylvia will daily
download the latest weather forecast from Internet to update the slide show. More to the
left the computer screen and a small TV screen to check the quality. Aart Nobel
co-ordinates the technique.

Our water
The drinking
water for the Gers, and that includes us in the Parc, will, from 17 April
2001 onward no
longer be sourced from the Save, but will be coming through a 100 km long pipeline
directly from the Pyrenees. This plan was heavily promoted by Jean-Jacques
Lassave, mayor
of Lombez and President of the erstwhile "Syndicat d'adduction d'eau potable de
Lombez-Samatan-Saramon". For over 30 years he worked on this plan, which, with help
from the government, has cost 81 million French Francs. The water originates from sources
800 meters high near Chalets Saint-Neree - 27.300 cubic meter per day - it is
collected near Haute Barousse. La Haute Barousse is a village far away in the Pyrenees,
you can find it on Michelin map 169 E3. So from now on we will be bathing in spring
water, very fashionable!
